The Day Care Program is licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and is working with the Keystone STARS program for continuous quality improvement. We serve families with high-quality care in a safe, nurturing environment that meets the needs of various age groups. We are open year round from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. M-F. Caring for young children means more than just keeping them safe. It means planning meaningful activities for individual abilities and being able to assess progress and make adjustments when necessary. The staff is composed of supervisors with college degrees in areas such as child development and education as well as trained assistants. Education at offsite facilities as well as in-service training — including CPR and first aid — are an ongoing part of our staff education. Preschool
The Preschool Program, begun in 1966, provides a constructive, developmentally appropriate experience for children ages three, four and five. The school features professional, certified teachers with qualified backgrounds and experience. Our facility is large and well equipped, Reading readiness, pre-math, science, art, music and much more are taught each day through a hands-on approach. Many of our daycare children come to PreK, but there are many others who attend classes here who are not enrolled in the daycare program. The Transition Class is designed for children who are not quite ready for kindergarten, or who just miss the cut-off date. The “nearly”kindergarten curriculum includes music, reading, math, science and art. Our Philosophy
Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church’s full-service day care and preschool program offers parents peace of mind. Small groups sizes and warm, patient caregivers exemplify God's love while teaching children using developmentally appropriate strategies to help them learn about the world around them.We stimulate and foster intellectual growth while reinforcing the same values of compassion, courtesy and respect that you teach at home. Our warm, patient caregivers have been making children feel comfortable, safe, and loved for over 25 years.
