Worship at MLUMC
We offer two Sunday services. The 8:30 a.m. service meets in Sanner Chapel,
immediately inside the front entrance of the church, and the Kidz Praise, a special worship service for ages 3 through Children who would like to participate in Kidz Praise will stay in the service until the Children’s Message, then leave for the All Twos Room with one of the Kidz Praise leaders. Kidz Praise will weave together praise, prayer, singing, reflecting on scripture, art and instruments. They return to the sanctuary just before the end of the adult service. During the summer heat, we move our worship services to air-conditioned rooms in the church. The 8:30 Sunday service is held in Sanner Chapel, accessible through the three main doors on West Liberty Avenue, and the 10:45 a.m. service is held in Asbury Center, on the church's lower level and easily accessible from the parking lot. Handicapped access is available from the parking lot, through the side door clearly marked with the universal handicapped access sign. Worship at Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church is a joyful, prayful, music-filled, traditional experience. We worship to glorify God and build up the community of believers to live in this world as followers of Jesus Christ. Our worship is traditional in form, yet personal and hospitable as an experience. Weekly, the community gathers to praise God, hear the Word read and preached, respond with prayers and commitments, and go forth to serve. Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month and on Holy Day festivals. The preaching style is Biblically-based yet focused on living in today's world. Our music ministry is of the highest quality with the Chancel Choir featured in the 10:45 a.m. service. Since children are a vital focus in our ministry, there is a children's sermon during the Sunday services. The pastors preaching regularly are Rev. Oden Warman, Sr. Pastor, and Rev. Kimberly Greway, Associate Pastor. Dr. David Watson, Pastor of Visitation, provides leadership in liturgy. For biographies of our clergy, click here. Dress varies, from business suits to business casual to jeans and T-shirts. Dress comfortably. There is a dual-level parking lot adjacent to the church, with clearly marked handicapped accessible spots on the upper level. Overflow parking isavailable either on the street or in a lot directly across West Liberty Avenue, behind Laughlin's funeral home. We are located at 3319 West Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15216, at the intersection of Scott Road and West Liberty. For door-to-door directions to the church from Mapquest, click here. |
